On July 18, 2024, a global IT outage occurred due to a flawed update from the cybersecurity company CrowdStrike. CrowdStrike, a cybersecurity technology firm specializing in cloud workload protection, threat intelligence, and cyberattack response services, has identified this as the root cause. This update affected businesses worldwide, including airlines, banks, and healthcare systems. Due to the update, Medi-Cal Dental Providers may have encountered intermittent disruptions with the Medi-Cal Dental provider portal. This was not a cyberattack and all Medi-Cal Dental system applications have been restored. Medi-Cal Dental actively addressed the situation to minimize any impact on the provider community.
Back by popular demand, the Medi-Cal Dental Office Hours for Providers – Paper Billing webinars are gearing up to begin again. Medi-Cal Dental continues to receive an unprecedented amount of paper claims submitted to DHCS. Unfortunately, many have critical fields missing or are incorrectly completed, which often result in a delay, Resubmission Turnaround Document (RTD), or denial of a claim.
