The 2026-2027 California State Budget has passed
The scheduled elimination of routine dental benefits for certain adult populations, the discontinuation of Proposition 56 supplemental payments, and the removal of Prospective Payment System (PPS) per-visit rates for specific clinic encounters not eligible for federal financial participation (FFP) provided to certain Medi-Cal members based on their immigration status have been delayed from July 1, 2026, to July 1, 2027.
The Medi-Cal Program currently offers dental services as one of the program's many benefits. Under the guidance of the California Department of Health Care Services, Medi-Cal Dental aims to provide Medi-Cal members with access to high-quality dental care.
