Service To Providers

Dental Outreach works with providers, clinics, hospitals and surgery centers to encourage continued participation and to increase participation in the Medi-Cal Dental Program. This is done by:

• Networking with organizations and programs to increase awareness of the Medi-Cal Dental Program and the needs of underserved populations within California's counties;
• Providing Medi-Cal Dental billing instruction to providers in need;
• Participating in the California Dental Association Scientific Sessions;
• Providing professional education in prevention and how to eradicate tooth decay. The importance of compliance with the latest information on prevention is stressed.
• The Department of Health and Human Services Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs)
  Several Federal and State funded programs provide financial incentives to professions who practice in rural areas.
• Indian Health Service (IHS)
  Dentists may apply for the Loan Repayment Program to meet staffing needs of Indian health programs.
